Amanda Kloots, the wife of the late Nick Cordero, who lost his battle with COVID19 on Sunday, and their one year old son, Elvis, had a GoFundMe account set up by what could be close friends to help them with funeral, memorial, and everyday expenses, went over the $1 Million mark today, more than double the original goal of raising $480,000.
The GoFundMe account was originally set up on April 18 for Amanda, Elvis, and Nick that covered not only everyday expenses and bills, but for Nick’s medical bills and rehabilitation if Nick were to make it out of the hospital, but the account was unfortunately updated to memorial when Nick died Sunday from COVID19 complications.
The legacy that Nick in his short life left on Broadway was so impactful, that the Broadway community was so moved to petition The Shubert Organization, which owns the Longacre Theater on Broadway, and where Nick last performed in “A Bronx Tale”, to rename that theater “The Nick Cordero Theater”, 30,000 signatures are needed, and over 29,000 have signed so far, only needing less than 1,000 signatures more.
Amanda’s love for Nick is much stronger than ever, it’s proved by Amanda finding unseen photos, interviews, and songs that Nick did, even uncovering 832 text since Nick went into the ICU.
