FASHION’S NEW ERA
Condé Nast, the parent company of Vogue magazine here in the U.S. and globally, has today appointed Chloe Malle as their new Vogue U.S. Editor-In-Chief. It comes a little over 2 months after the Vogue owner announced that Anna Wintour would be stepping out of American operations, but remaining on board for global Vogues outside the United States. Malle’s new role will start immediately as Malle previously served as Editor of Vogue.com where direct traffic to Vogue.com and all key metrics doubled. Increases on the website side of this prestigious platform has been vital with yearly events such as the Met Gala, where Condé Nast feels new directorial blood is needed.
Anna Wintour also chimed in on the appointment of Chloe Malle to U.S. Editor-In-Chief saying she Vogue needs warmth, joy, and experience are what Vogue needs right now. Chloe has proved that she can balance the forefront of American Vogue’s history with the frontlines of the new requirements of fashion. Chloe states that she’s gained her chops working on both print and digital in the Vogue sphere, she loves the new title she’s in, and will continue to bridge both legacy and new media for a successful Vogue. Chloe Malle is also the daughter of actress, Candice Bergen, who happened to play Vogue Editor-In-Chief in HBO’s “Sex & The City”.
