SORRY, NO RAGE HERE
Olivia Rodrigo got in deep today as she dug into Dazed magazine for another front page cover to talk her upcoming OR3 album era out next Friday. Olivia for sure says she’s definitely grown up and away from writing vengeful pop songs talking about her ex through “Sour” and “Guts”. Now album 3 is all about love, but mainly the dilemmas, pitfalls, and even highs about adult relationships. “Drop Dead” for sure is a prime example of how Olivia has moved on from writing about teenage heartbreak. “Drop Dead” also the lead single, departs from even typical pop ballad sadness and starts out on a highly optimistic note about a first date, being in love.

Dazed also touched on Olivia’s fear of growing up right when the “Guts” era ended, whether or not things would get better. But luckily now that we’re at OR3, Olivia says things are much better than they were before. You get a lot wiser when you get older, because you also fear you won’t be as impressionable like you were when you were younger. Olivia feels too she got better at making music while also admitting she too has a few more things to figure out.

For sure, Olivia Rodrigo’s new album is purely big girl status, and learning for the first time what it’s like to be in an adult relationship.
Plus, finding out things about yourself you never knew.
Yes, in close to pop music fashion as DPL has seen, this is Olivia’s version of a pop star growing up as they either make mature music, or go totally mature in another music genre.

No, it’s definitely not Britney Spears proving herself mature in 2002 which ultimately was an empty promise thanks to Britney spiraling downward after breaking up with Justin Timberlake.

Though one could argue it could be Olivia’s reaction to how much more transparent, aware, knowledgeable, and clear the world along with Olivia is now according to how GEN Z claims themselves.
And not resting on the “Sour” success and the “Guts” glory of the past.

Olivia also says making an album takes time, “Drop Dead” and possibly “You Seem Pretty Sad For A Girl So In Love” were suppose to come out this past February.
Which clearly is why the music industry was hyping up Olivia at the end of 2025 so pop music was ready to make 2026 their banner year with Olivia Rodrigo leading the way.
January is normally a perfect time for artists to sure up their number 1 or top 10 Billboard Hot 100 status for the rest of the year.
We possibly would’ve just seen Ella Langley be nothing but a short term placeholder if Olivia launch OR3 sooner.
But Olivia Rodrigo wanted to do one thing, make her music right.
AND YES, Olivia is open to collaborating with anyone. Even Sabrina Carpenter.
