Give My Regards To Quarantine

Just when we thought all hope was lost, or that all was canceled after a stretch of time with no updates on the situation, The Broadway League along with the American Theatre Wing announced today that The 74th Annual Tony Awards will take place after all, but not in the normal sense we all know, not from Radio City Music Hall in New York City like we know and love, but from the comfort of our own homes going digital, or virtual as most award shows have gone since COVID19.

Eligibility for this year’s Tony’s are expected to be finalized in the coming days, additional information such as date and platform of the awards ceremony will also be announced soon, the Tony’s were originally postponed shortly after the pandemic began.

Organizers of the Tony’s says the 2019-20 Broadway season was cut short due to the pandemic, nonetheless it was a full year of extraordinary work that deserves to be recognized, and are thrilled to have found a way to celebrate this season’s incredible work by fellow artists, also giving the entire theater community a much needed uplift during this unprecedented time.

So far, The Broadway League is keeping Broadway closed until at least January 3, 2021, and there’s no guarantee that The Great White Way of New York City will raise the curtain again the day after.
