
The Bureau of Labor Statistics has reported that no jobs were gained in the month of December, losing 140,000 jobs instead of adding jobs consistently since last spring, jobs were lost in leisure, hospitality, and private education due to a significant rise in COVID19 cases, the last major job loss was seen in April 2020 when 20.5 million jobs were lost, and the unemployment rate was 14.7 percent in the first full month of the pandemic.
The nation’s unemployment rate stayed unchanged from November at 6.7 percent, same went for the figure of those unemployed at 10.7 million, this week’s unemployment claims still drew staggering numbers at 787,000.
