Slow, Not Fast

Fashinnovation went live today on IGTV to discuss the future of the fashion industry, that future too obvious to ignore is sustainability, favoring a slow pace of fashion filled with long-lasting pieces to last for years instead of fast fashion having you wear a piece of clothing only once.

If the fashion industry wants to see the other side of this COVID19 pandemic, then most brands need to accept the reality of producing clothing lines with no carbon footprints whatsoever, that means no coal, oil, or fossil fuels involved in creating sustainable fashion, wind, solar energy, and other sustainable sources in organic capacity with net zero carbon footprints that will produce beautiful dresses and tops.

In this reset of the fashion industry, you could see New York Fashion Week transform back into a place just for buyers, designers and sellers as oppose to being a celebrity destination acting as a backdrop for their Instagram status, though press will surely still be involved in reporting the evolution of NYFW, as well as the entire fashion industry that’s also evolved into a lifestyle we strive to live.

The love that you have for fashion as a designer, and as a brand must also be in the form of accepting the changes taking place right now in fashion, you have to produce a line you know will sustain your customer base for many years to come to reduce waste, and embracing sustainability could be manufacturing lines domestically for quicker access, and overall believing and loving in your brand strong enough to accept fashion’s next act.
