Tis’ No Season
NY NOW is holding the prestigious honor today of being the very first fashion trade show in nearly 17 months to take place at the Javits Center here in New York City’s Hudson Yards, thanks to COVID19 locking the world down and shutdowns all across the board, now the art of buyers, retailers, press, and trade show organizers once again hit the ground running with a robust crowd for NY NOW, a semi-annual trade show holding seasonal fashions, accessories, home goods, and other things outside of fashion also, where we also learn about Javier Dam, a unique clothing collection sans seasonal, all part of the Peruvian Trading Company, which Javier Dam is apart of, Javier Dam is a labor of love by Javier and Patricia Dam.

Javier Dam, on the record and off the record, is not a trend-setting collection, there’s no styles bought and sold here, and it’s not seasonal, Javier Dam is hat art, almost 30 years of designing what the creators behind Javier Dam like, it’s their own creativity and kookiness robust with heavily stitched fabrics expressing the art that’s Javier Dam, leaving the public to make a choice about wearing these garments that’s an enjoyable life experience.
Javier Dam celebrates that it’s unique from other collections, starting with that it’s not sold in regular clothing department stores, nor is it found online, or even in a catalog, Javier Dam sells their garments to very unique stores that appreciate the kookiness Javier Dam is, boutiques and customers who have bought Javier Dam since founded in 1993, and are still attracting loyal customers to storefronts who carry Javier Dam year after year, with new designers added every year.

Javier Dam makes its own proprietary yarn starting out in Germany before its final stop in Peru where not only is this yarn machine-washable that’s imitational mole hair and hyper allergenic, but it also enables ideas like taking a ski-mask and making it into a totally whole new idea, there’s not only kookiness behind a ski mask, there’s also the purpose of keeping you very warm in the winter, while reducing the amount of ice sickles hanging down your mouth while skiing or out in the cold.

Javier Dam spawns their creative and kooky garments beyond ski mask, dog sweaters, and drawstring items doubling as hats, you can also find pieces such as long sweater coats and dresses head to toe, super-warm turtleneck sweaters, scarves, and animal design hats and gloves for customers old and new who love life at its fullest, and a 30 to 40 percent rotation of new items each year.
Javier Dam is one of many exhibitors on the Javits Center floor for the next 4 days here at NY NOW, after the Javits Center acted as a COVID19 only hospital and COVID19 vaccination site, plus unveiling additional space for even more Javits Center extending out to 40th Street and 11th and 12th Avenue.
