An Era Of Man’s Best Friend

Anthony Rubio got the New York runway off to an early start Thursday night when Anthony Rubio graced us here in New York City with an evening at Fotografiska Museum right here on Park Avenue as Anthony Rubio celebrated looks from 2023, which include red carpet looks that are canine editions inspired by Billy Porter and Sam Smith, plus concert looks and red carpet looks of 2024 so far.

In this tribute night yet look ahead to Anthony Rubio’s upcoming “The Pet Gala” film as well as “The Pet Gala” this May, new canine looks included costumes from Beyoncé’s “Renaissance” Tour, Rihanna at the “Super Bowl”, and Taylor Swift’s “The Eras Tour”, recreating the sequins and mirror design from both artists, as well as Beyoncé’s silver horse armor, and of course, Taylor Swift’s impossible to miss multi-colored pink rainbow and mono-chrome colors from the highest grossing concert tour ever, and highest grossing concert film ever.

Along with a canine runway show, Anthony Rubio’s evening included a sit-down about Anthony’s upcoming film about the creation of “The Pet Gala”, directed by famed HBO documentary film director, Kevin Lopez, it was all thanks to “Access Hollywood” last year who challenged Anthony Rubio to create a pet version of “The Met Gala” in 2 days, tying with the endured rule that if you create a canine fashion presentation, you must also design for humans, so Anthony Rubio took up the challenge, stayed up 2 days straight mimicking the 2023 Met Gala who’s looks celebrated Karl Lagerfeld, who passed away last year a short time before “The Met Gala”; DANIEL PLUS LAUREN attended that very first “Pet Gala” where canine and human looks tied in with “Met Gala” inspirations.

Also on display was “Anthony Rubio: Iconic”, a just released book that’s a prelude to a Canine Couture coffee table book; Anthony Rubio kicked off 2024 by turning to the “Golden Globes” and recreating Jennifer Lopez’s pink gown red carpet look.

Shortly after Anthony Rubio adopted “Bandit”, Anthony Rubio declared this dog would never be abused again, nor live anything below a glamorous lifestyle, Anthony dressed him up in cute costumes inspired by human celebrities, entertainment news outlets picked up on Anthony Rubio dressing up his pet, and Anthony Rubio’s life changed from there, deciding to create canine looks not only for “Bandit”, but for all dogs (and cats too) who loved being the center of attention.

Anthony Rubio’s beginnings start in the Bronx, fast forward to 2003 when Anthony encountered a dog that was abused by their owner, Anthony Rubio then made the decision to adopt that dog which Anthony Rubio then named “Bandit” in spite of advice by NYPD officers on site not to do it because this animal would then bite people out of fear by that point, and after long term animal abuse.

But there’s one important step that Anthony Rubio takes before making his canine pet looks official, he sees if each dog are comfortable wearing that look on the runway, if they’re not, then Anthony Rubio doesn’t use it and creates a look that does feel comfortable on them; “The Pet Gala” film director, Marc Lopez has followed that same strategy when creating this documentary, he answers to his daughter, who’s also the Executive Producer of “The Pet Gala” film; the whole idea is to feel good and feel like a star with what you’re doing, and not perform any action you take in the most unnatural way.
