Broadway At Home

All efforts that the show must go on live-streaming are continuing left and right for the theater, today it was on “CBS This Morning” who had the cast of “Beautiful: The Carole King Musical” on for a segment where all the cast members came together from each of their homes not only to perform, but talk about coming together even though Broadway is closed.

Though live-streaming has been thrown around as a life-preserver for quite some time now, people behind the scenes of “Beautiful” were on the case about ways to keep themselves going soon after Broadway closed their doors due to COVID19.

“Beautiful” is not the only one who came together online as a surprise, “Dear Evan Hansen” did it with James Corden last week, and “Hamilton” did it via John Krasinski as a surprise for a young “Hamilton” fan who missed out of their show due to COVID19.

Plus, figures like National Theatre and Andrew Lloyd Webber have taken action on YouTube by live-streaming past performances to over a million views, as the U.K. extends the West End shutdown till May 31.
